The Eye Armour Story

You know, I used to envy people wearing glasses, and why? Because, when they ride a bike (esp in OMR) they can protect their eyes from the sand and dust. I can’t, because I don’t wear one. So I decided to buy cheap driving glasses and I even had one for a couple of years. A few of ‘em seen me with it, jeered me, but hey! it is effective.. or, it was.. until the day I broke it accidentally. I was mad at myself to have lost my eye armour. I couldn’t drive for 15 minutes without it and I used to keep to small streets and lanes(to protect my eyes from the dust) whenever I wanted to go somewhere.

My dad asked me, “why not wear a helmet? It will protect your eyes as well as your head”. Well I have one and I don’t want to wear it simply because it is so huge to carry it around.. Right, I went to the opticals near my house, where I bought the first one 2 years back. The rate was 60/- back then. The same store, I went and browsed through all the shades there, but to my shock, the price was 250-600 on the price tag! What the ?!! I immediately left the place. Today, I had small work in guindy and while I was on my way, I saw a road side store with cheap goggles. yay! I went and picked one for the same 60/- and tried it out. Well, what do you know? It covered my eyes fully and even better than the previous one. Now that is not a bad deal at all!
